This was my 3rd YouTube LIVE class! And it was VERY popular! The Pulse in TCM is one of the hardest skills to master. In this TCM class, I looked at taking the PULSE in Chinese medicine diagnosis in a SIMPLE actionable way, making it easy to improve your skills.

The Pulse reflects the state of Qi & Blood of all organs. Superficial level (Qi & Yang Organs), Middle (Blood), Deep (Yin & Yin Organs). It is affected by any short-term influences (running, insomnia, emotional shock…). The patient should not have just eaten a large meal, drank coffee, or taken stimulants, (medications) or the pulse reading will not be accurate.

Normal pulse: gentle, calm, 4 beats to a respiratory cycle. Soft but with strength, the deep level is felt easily.
Normal beats: adult (over 12 years old): 75 bmp. Less than 1 yrs old (120-140 bmp), 2-5 yrs old (90-100 bmp), 5-9 yrs old (80-90 bmp).

If you missed the LIVE session, you can watch it below. I would suggest you start at 10:40 min (actual class start!) unless you want to listen to my singing 🙂

Let me know what you think and keep rocking it with TCM!
