Soon, I’ll be turning 50! And since I truly believe I’m going to live to a 100, I guess the second half should be fantastic. Keeping the best for last, right? The transition maybe interesting though!

So far, menopausal symptoms haven’t been bad at all. My period is much lighter and only last 2 to 3 days (I’m pretty please with that!), no night sweat, hot flushes, or insomnia. And definitely no hysteria. Well, maybe a few crazy moments here and there, which my hubby would agree with 🙂

My mom had a really hard time. You can read her whole story here and get the PDF for the basic TCM treatments for Menopause.

Today, I wanted to talk about the mental effect menopause has on women. Recently, one my regular patient said to me: “Last week, my husband’s breathing REALLY bothered me. I said to him: “Couldn’t you breathe any louder?” and he said: “So now, I can’t even breathe!” That’s when I realized, everything irritates me, his eating, his breathing, the way he talks, EVERYTHING!”

If you’re a woman reading this, you know you’ve been there, most of us have, especially during PMS. We cannot seem to control our thoughts, even though we know they’re irrational. We can be upset one minute and cry the next! Talk about hysteria!

Did you know 50% of menopausal women (Between the age of 42 to 55) experience depression, anxiety, panic attacks and rage?
