I have a patient who is the perfect picture of Lung Qi deficiency! She has a very weak voice, and when she talks, it takes effort. In addition, she has asthma since she was a child, eczema on her wrists, and catches colds, pneumonia and other pathogens which weakens her Wei (defensive) Qi every time!
As practitioners, we truly have to be detectives.Β Keep looking for clues andΒ get all the facts. This will allow us to makeΒ tailored treatments for each patient, thereby providing more successful outcomes.
Today, I look at the TCM LUNG system and discuss how to differentiate all its patterns with symptoms. We’ll also go over what questions to ask during the inquiry method of TCM diagnosis.
Enjoy the video below and let me know what you think.
And as always keep rocking with TCM!

i want to ask about a Lung issue called Emphasimia (not sure of spelling) do you know what aspect of Lung diagnosis would apply?
Yes, that’s a Lung & Kidney Lung Yang deficiency. π
What are the symptoms of emphysema?
The symptoms of emphysema depend on how severe the underlying lung damage has become.
People with emphysema are often short of breath. As the damage progresses, the periods of breathlessness become more frequent. It becomes harder to do everyday activities or to exercise. Your breathing becomes easier when you rest. Eventually you might become short of breath even after very little physical activity.
People with emphysema may also have:
a persistent cough
phlegm
wheezing
weight loss
muscle weakness
At times, your symptoms may get worse suddenly.
Yes it’s a LU & KD Yang deficiency in TCM.
