10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! The story behind AcuPro Academy

Hey there, TCM rockstar! I cannot believe I am writing this, but AcuPro Academy is 10 YEARS OLD! In this podcast episode, I am taking you on a trip down memory lane as we celebrate a whole decade of Acupro Academy. Yep, that’s ten years of connecting, learning, and making Chinese Medicine easy to grasp and fun to learn for everyone. Let’s dive into the details of this incredible journey!

The Birth of Acupro☯️

Believe it or not, this all started with a humble Facebook page in 2014. I just wanted to support my students in their TCM learning journey. Little did I know that it would turn into a global phenomenon! From using cartoons because I was too scared to show my face, to overcoming imposter syndrome and the fear of criticism, these early days taught me one valuable lesson: TCM knows no boundaries. The internet has the incredible power to unite all of us who are passionate about Chinese Medicine. TCM knows no boundaries, and the internet brings us together in amazing ways.

Building the Community 🌱

Fast forward to our leap to YouTube in 2014. Oh boy, where I posted my first video! It was a nerve-wracking experience because of my insecurities. But my desire to help others outweighed my fears. But guess what? The community’s love and positive vibes kept me fueled. Over time, I learned to embrace my quirky personality, share my French accent proudly, and most importantly, make TCM fun and easy to learn. Despite the trolls and occasional negativity, 90% of the time, the support and positivity from our community kept me going.

Overcoming Challenges 🏃🏻‍♀️

Running Acupro Academy has been a labour of love, but it hasn’t been without its challenges. There was a time when I was juggling teaching at two schools, a busy practice, and managing a wellness center. The burnout was real. I vividly remember walking to work one day, feeling utterly exhausted and unable to catch my breath. A visit to a naturopathic doctor revealed dangerously low iron levels, forcing me to make some hard choices. Trust me, letting go and relying on others has been a game-changer.

To survive and continue my passion, I had to delegate more responsibilities and manage my time better. This experience was a turning point, teaching me that delegating is not just a necessity; it’s a lifeline.

Publishing AcuPro Books 📚

In 2019, I took another big leap and published my first book, “Acupoints Made Easy.” The community kept pushing for it, so I finally went for it. Every sale gave me anxiety, worrying that people would hate it. But your positive feedback made it clear—putting myself out there was totally worth it.

I’ve since authored additional books, including “Chinese Medicine Made Easy” and “Chinese Medicine Treatment Made Easy.” Currently, I’m working on a comprehensive herbal book—challenging but will be so useful and rewarding to publish.

It’s Not Free! 💵

Contrary to popular belief, maintaining an online presence is far from free. From pricey equipment to monthly hosting fees and software subscriptions, it all adds up. But it’s all worthwhile to keep bringing you quality content, solid advice, and the support you need on your TCM journey.

I’m super excited to bring more guest teachers on board and create new courses, like ear acupuncture and menopause. Additionally, I’m launching masterclasses to offer live, interactive learning experiences on TCM topics such as headache treatment and mastering diagnosis.

My commitment to making TCM easy to grasp and fun to learn will always be at the heart of Acupro Academy. With your continued support, we’ll keep growing, learning, and transforming lives, one patient at a time.
